Help notes: REPUTATION HIGHER LEVEL QUESTIONS
The ‘higher level’ questions are more aspirational. You may wish to work towards the minimum level topics first.
The higher level help notes are less detailed than for minimum level questions but will help point to you towards more information and examples related to those topics.
Is your organisation a signatory of the Fair Payment Code?
The Fair Payment Code, administered by the government’s Small Business Commissioner, contains various objectives around promptly paying suppliers. The Fair Payment Code (which has replaced the Prompt Payment Code), includes three award levels:
- Gold Award – for those firms paying at least 95% of all invoices within 30 days
- Silver Award – for those paying at least 95% of all invoices within 60 days, including at least 95% of invoices to small businesses within 30 days
- Bronze Award – for those paying at least 95% of all invoices within 60 days
Organisations following the payment code also commit to working in a clear, fair and collaborative way with suppliers.
For further information on the code, and how to formally apply, visit the Fair Payment Code website.
If you are already a signatory of the Prompt Payment Code, the government requires re-application for the Fair Payment Code.
Do you promote your vision and values with your customers?
Sharing your values with customers provides an opportunity to spread good practice and build trusted business relationships. This could be achieved through activities including advertising and pitching your business, guidance around ways of working with customers, terms of business and customer selection, and training of your staff.
