Help notes: QUALITY CONTROL
Does your organisation monitor the quality of its goods and services?
This question is about checking that goods or services reaching customers are of a high standard, for example by carrying out checks and inspections, or asking for feedback. Consistently high quality products minimise waste and the need to correct defects, and can also increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.
What is a ‘Yes’ for me?
Answering yes to this question means that your organisation makes checks on the quality of the goods and services it offers.
For smaller organisations this might for example be via following up with customers or spot checking goods for quality.
For larger organisations this can for example involve feedback programmes, inspection programmes, tests and audits.
Does this question apply to me? Is this a regulatory requirement?
This question is for all suppliers, whether they provide goods or a service, to consider how they monitor quality.
There are a number of standards, such as those administered by ISO, which focus on quality. These are typically not legal requirements but may be expected as standard in certain industries.
